HOLMFIRTH artist Jamie Frost is to exhibit his work at the opening show of the season at Newby Hall.
The exhibition at the hall near Ripon is open throughout April.
It features work including In Like A Lion, Out Like A Lamb – a figure study in ball point pen measuring 7ft 6ins in length.
This forms the centrepiece of the exhibition.
Jamie said: “When you draw on this scale you become physically involved.
“The distance from one end of the drawing to the other can be the same as the distance between yourself and the model.”
In order to exhibit the drawing, Jamie had to get a little help.
He called on Chris Bonham from Springfield Hobbies to frame it just a week before the exhibition.
Chris said: “I like a challenge!”
The drawing is made of many thousands of tiny contour lines which mesmerise as you close in on the image.
Jamie has been using the figure to create other works recently which are featured in the exhibition and trace the transition from his earlier work to a more figurative approach.
Accompanying the exhibition is a single sculpture, Jamie’s first full figure entitled Your Friend And Mine.
It is carved from one piece of ash.
