THERE’S a big date just around the corner for Peter Lynch, new musical director of Honley Male Voice Choir.

Peter, who took up his new job with the choir at the start of the year, will make his concert debut with the singers on March 10 at 7pm.

It is fitting that he will make it on the choir’s home ground in Honley.

The choir, conducted by Peter and accompanied by Michelle Sutcliffe, also make her first appearance as its official accompanist will sing in the village’s St Mary’s Church.

The concert is a thank you for the choir’s “friends” as its subscribers are now known.

The choir decided last year to thank the “friends” for their support by peforming an annual concert for them, free of charge.

Peter will be conducting the choir in the singing of 12 pieces, some new and some old favourites and the audience will also be entertained by six choir soloists.

Peter himself will compere the concert.

Afterwards refreshments will be provided and served by members of the choir’s Ladies’ Circle.
