What a way to start its birthday celebrations.

Huddersfield-based theatre company Dick and Lottie began performances on Tuesday to mark the company’s 10th anniversary.

But before the actors stepped into the spotlight on stage in the Lawrence Batley Theatre’s Cellar space, the theatre was asking for more.

“The LBT have asked Dick & Lottie to extend their run, which was due to finish tomorrow, by adding two more performances on Sunday (February 9),” said John Cotgrave.

“Currently all our performances have been sold out and there is a healthy waiting list for returns,” he said.

“It's hoped that by adding the two extra performances it will satisfy the demand.

“We feel thrilled and honoured to have been asked and it shows that there is a demand for drama in Huddersfield.”

The company is renowned for its production of Sir Alan Ayckbourn’s plays.

The two extra performances on Sunday are Relatively Speaking at 2pm and Life of Riley at 6pm.
