IT’S a gig that offers an evening of sheer delight for jazz fans.

Head for the Lawrence Batley Theatre tomorrow night and join the Steve Waterman Quintet for a trip through almost 100 years of music for the jazz trumpet.

Steve Waterman is a regular on the UK and European jazz scenes and is among the current top trumpeters.

Tomorrow, he and his quintet, Chris Allard (guitar), Anthony Kerr (vibes), Alec Dankworth (bass) and Dave Barry (drums), will tell their jazz story through the compositions by the great players including Louis Armstrong, King Oliver, Bix Beiderbecke and Roy Eldridge.
