LET Linthwaite Methodist Players whisk you off for a Surprise Package of a night out.

Linthwaite Methodist Players are off to Formentera for a holiday trip that promises to be packed full of laughter and surprises.

Join them at the church centre in Stones Lane for performances which begin on Thursday March 21 and continue on Friday and Saturday at 7.15pm.

The Surprise Package of a show that they’ve chosen is a farcical comedy by Duncan Greenwood and Derek Parkes.

The Tinsley family swap a trip to Blackpool for a package holiday in the Balearic Islands.

There’s romance, plenty of misunderstandings and the general chaos and complications you’d expect from this fun style of farce.

The show’s direction is in the experienced hands of Donald Sykes who was a stalwart of neighbouring Slaithwaite Amateurs before the group closed down.

He’s got an impressive cast with actors from both the Colne Valley and further afield.

Andrew McDermott has appeared with Linthwaite Players before but has also made many appearances with Honley Players.

Margaret Warmington is an experienced director as well as actress and is particularly well known for her work with the amateur society, Spot On Musical Theatre based at Moldgreen.

Margaret Moriarty will be a familiar face to those who also supported the Slaithwaite society and is one of a number of performers who have become valued members at Linthwaite.

Graham Hirst and Andrew Rushby, are both actors who have appeared in a number of Linthwaite’s previous shows and they are at the heart of much of the comic capers in this show.

And one last thing, the company says that as in the title of the show, there’s a Surprise Package in the performance.

You won’t find this cast member named in the programme, even the cast isn’t sure who will be playing the extra member of the team.

They may have their suspicions but like them, you’ll have to turn up to the performances to be certain.

Tickets from John and Pat Morrison on 01484 842014.
