THE singers of Colne Valley Male Voice Choir need a bit of help to solve a mystery.

The choir has invested in a new trophy cabinet which is taking pride of place at its Slaithwaite headquarters.

Among the memorabilia and cups won by the choir are several Llangollen eistedffod plaques.

But in putting the plaques out on show, the choir has discovered one is missing.

“From the choir’s five wins in Wales, one plaque from the early 1960s is not on show,” said the choir’s Stuart Baxter.

“The plaque seems to have gone missing. It may be that perhaps a choir official at the time had the plaque in safe keeping.

“If he or any of his family can help with our search we would be grateful if they would contact us.”

Stuart can be contacted on 01484 645192.

More positive news from the choir is that the first rehearsal for the new Colne Valley Boys Choir was held this week in Slaithwaite and the youngsters are apparently ready for more.
