MEMBERS of the Colne Valley Male Voice Choir were in fine voice for a thanksgiving service.

They had been invited to sing at the Service of Thanksgiving for the life of George Henry Hubert Lascelles 7th Earl of Harewood.

The late Earl, who died in July, had been patron of the choir for more than 60 years.

The service saw 64 choir men along with conductor Thom Meredith and pianist Keith Swallow travel to Harewood.

The choir sang in the marquee for 50 minutes before the church service at All Saints Church and then again afterwards, joining the church proceedings via videolink.

Choir member John Lees said: “We were delighted to have had the Countess of Harewood make her way to the stage to thank us for our efforts.”
