COWLERSLEY father and son Simon and Mark Durrans take their distinctive brand of classic rock to an unusual town centre venue next week.

The Durrans, who perform as guitar and singing duo Acoustimosh, will be performing on Wednesday (Oct 19) at coffee shop Time Circa 2010 in Wormald's Yard, off King Street. Doors open at 7pm.

Their set will include cover versions of classic songs and some of their own material. Simon, 45, and Mark, 20, began writing their own material and are putting together an album after fans at their gigs asked if they had CDs of their music for sale.

Simon, who works as an independent financial adviser, and Mark, a music student at Salford University, also play with Huddersfield band HD7.

Simon finds a change of musical pace singing with Colne Valley Male Voice Choir while Mark also has his own band called Marley's Chains.

“The coffee shop is a popular spot and I know its proprietor Andrew Dunne is keen to develop it as a venue for live music and entertainment,” said Simon.

"I think it is going to be a really nice, cosy little gig. You can play a lot of big places and you feel a bit lost. But I think the coffee shop will be fantastic. "
