Guitar

SHE is on a 15 date autumn tour but musician Kit Holmes is never too busy to play her home town.

Star guitar player Kit will always receive a warm welcome at the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield and that is where she plays on October 22 (8pm).

It’s been a busy year so far for Kit who toured throughout the spring to promote the release of her eagerly anticipated third album, Driving into the Blue which features legendary double bass player Danny Thompson.

Originally from Wakefield, but based more recently in Shelley, Kit’s trademark sultry vocals and virtuoso guitar playing have wowed audiences across the UK.

One critic described her as “a new guitar heroine”.

This autumn tour sees Kit back on the road with her trio, Allan Greenwood (guitar, fiddle) and Hayden Minett (bass) and includes a headline show at this year’s International Guitar Festival.

For those who have not yet heard Kit’s trio in action, expect an energetic, enthralling performance of blues-driven roots with a soul sensibility.

Tickets are £10/£8 from the box office on 01484 430528.
