Music: Holmfirth Music Festival winners serenade concertgoers

IT IS a chance to hear some of the best musicians and singers in the area.

Head for Holmfirth Parish Church on Sunday for a Festival Serenade.

The concert features an impressive guest list of prize-winning singers, choirs and instrumentalists from Holmfirth Music Festival.

Those winners include Denby Dale Ladies’ Choir and the mixed voices of Hade Edge Community Choir.

The young musicians, many of them still in their teens, will be showing off their dazzling talents in a diverse programme of music.

They include pianist Lydia Wyatt, brass player Aaron Wood and teenage oboe player Freya Smith.

Singers Rebecca Parr and Hannah Wharton will also be contributing.

Refreshments will be served at the interval and the concert starts at 7pm.
