A Holmfirth duo have landed a top festival spot.

Young musicians Lewis Reynolds and Ian Walker of LewRey have been asked to play at Sheffield Cathedral as part of the city’s renowned Tramlines Music Festival on July 24 to 26.

They will play at the three day event alongside dozens of high profile acts such as Basement Jaxx, The Sugar Hill Gang and Billy Bragg.

It is great news for the singing, drumming and electro beats pair, who only released their debut EP, What’s Up, at the end of last year to good fan acclaim, when Lewis was 20 and Ian 19.

It is one of the top events they will play this year that is getting singer Lewis excited.

He, said: “We’re really happy to be on the bill with other cool artists like basement jaxx and the wu tang clan.

“We also have some other good support roles already this summer for Josh Kumra on 2 occasions, sigma and were on the same bill as Pendulum which is madness.”

LewRey will play high up on the bill of Boston Music Festival on July 4 and at Matlock Funk and Soul Festival on May 1.
