One of the most popular events at Marsden Jazz Festival is the Street Music Parade.

Jazz bands, magical musical contraptions, dancers and festival visitors join the fun as it winds its way along Peel Street in the centre of the village.

The parade will be led by BLAST furness, who promise a mix of Latin, New Orleans and Eastern European music along the parade route, while mechanical oddities Hurly Burley and the Beast will keep the crowds entertained.

Musicians are also invited to bring their instruments and join the performance.

Youngsters can join the fun too, and can make their own kazoo ahead of the festival parade on Saturday October 10.

Free family workshops will be held at Marsden Parochial Hall this month where people can make fabulous kazoo horns to play in the parade.

Led by Rachel Ellis and Dave Young, the free workshops will be held 2-5pm on Saturday September 19, Sunday September 20, Saturday September 26 and Sunday September 27.

There's no need to book —just turn up.
