Two piece band, LewRey are helping put Huddersfield on the map as the place for passionate electronic music.

Comprising of members Lewis and Ian, they say they ‘write music with real feeling and meaning, straight from the heart of West Yorkshire’ in a ‘fresh urban style.’

They focus on recording electronic compositions which are created through experiments with vintage drum machines and analogue synthesisers but also bring together their skills in playing dozens of instruments such as saxophone, piano, vocal, synth and live drums to bring new layers to their sound, especially their electric shows across the UK, which they play acoustically.

These are interlaced with soulful, powerful singing, which at times evoke post-dubstep icon james Blake, fellow Huddersfield artist, Pat Fulgoni and British rap.

They are just a few of the genres explored by the pair through their music, who were both lured into the performing world from young ages and came together as a duo last January.

Keen not to be pigeon-holed, their songs drift seamlessly from down tempo ambient electronic beats to hip-hop, jazz and catchy, pop like choruses.

They have already released their first single, We’re Done and are about to release their debut EP ‘What’s Up’ at the end of this summer.
