WhatHappenedonthatisland is the musical alter-ego of Jacob Whitcroft, a Huddersfield musician and student who is pushing the boundaries of electonic-inspired, genre-bending music.

Self-described as the ‘adolescent ramblings of teenage feelings’, he has combined his diverse musical influences by creating off the wall fusions of ambient, electro, indie rock, emo and lo-fi-pop, which are compelling, if not for the faint-hearted.

Interlaced with dark-humoured and brooding lyrics, he has just released 12 tracks through his first EP, Welcome to My Black Lodge.

It represents the start of a new direction for the popular music and technology student, who also plays drums in local band ‘ilovecolour’.

Jacob said: “There are a lot of genres I play within but I try to keep it in a more cohesive whole under the guise of alternate pop music.

“It’s morwe electronic than live instrument based but there are live tracks. As a whole the music tends to be on the moodier side of things.”
