Philip Selway, drummer and vocalist from the world-famous band Radiohead, has been confirmed for an appearance at the Underneath the Stars Festival in Cawthorne in July.

The music festival, which is being organised by Yorkshire folk singer Kate Rusby and her family, will take place at Cannon Hall Farm from July 24 to 26.

Selway, who has been with Radiohead for 30 years and eight albums, headlining at Glastonbury back in 2003, launched his debut solo album four years ago and has appeared in the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire film along with Radiohead bandmate Jonny Greenwood and Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker.

Joe Rusby, Kate’s brother, explained how Selway was booked for Underneath the Stars: “Kate has collaborated with Philip quite recently on her retrospective album ‘20’ and we have always been a big fan of his music.

“Not everyone knows that he has a very personal, folkier side to his music and it’s great to have him playing at the festival, where he will be performing in a really intimate singer-songwriter setting.”
