The Sugarhill Gang will play a live set at Louie's Liquor Store in Huddersfield tonight.

The American hip-hop group have announced an impromptu 'block party' at the Old Court House bar in Queen Street at 11pm.

And there's no need to book tickets — fans can simply turn up and pay on the door to see the gang in action.

If weather permits, the show may take place outside on the Boneyard Terrace.

The bar announced the surprise gig as a Facebook event.

It said: "A very, very special live show will be taking place tonight, super short notice but that's what happens in this crazy world...

"Rapper's Delight, Apache, 8th Wonder... the list goes on!

"A full live hour of history will unfold, live at Louie's, as we bring you this absolutely epic block party.

"Get down early as space is limited, we are a basement speakeasy after all."

The rappers played an energetic show at Sheffield's Tramlines Festival on Saturday and are currently touring the UK.

They are also scheduled to perform at Brudenell Social Club in Leeds with Grandmaster Melle Mel and Scorpio tonight at 8pm.
