Young Huddersfield band Cafuné will rally for political reform at a special Yorkshire event.

The five piece dream punk outfit will be one of those to open the two day mini festival called Above Beyond, which will take place at The Belgrave in Leeds.

They will be helping to raise money and awareness of new political party, Above and Beyond, which wants to introduce radical changes to make politics more democratic and sustainable.

Cafuné’s guitarist, Nick Granata, said: “There are some brilliant live bands taking part in this and it will be superb to be part of it.

“The Belgrave is a great venue and the atmosphere will be something special. “It is also for a great cause and it is about time somebody tried to do something about this growing problem.”

Other acts on the bill include headliners indie rockers Indianic and Bradford pair Waiting for Wednesday.

The event organiser, Mark Flanagan said: “We have been amazed at the response and all the bands are really behind what we are trying to do.

“I also think it says a lot about the music scene in West Yorkshire that there are so many superb bands out there and that we have some fantastic venues for them to play in.”

Tickets cost £5.50 and can be bought online at www.voteaboveandbeyond.org/abovebeyond-gigs.html .
