IT IS just to be hoped that he hasn’t double booked.

He is Peter Armitage and that “double booking” could just be a date at Buckingham Palace!

The team behind the summer variety show, now a must-see part of Marsden’s entertainment calendar, are delighted to have Peter back this year as compere.

“While everyone loved the show last year, we're all really looking forward to having Peter back as part of the team,” said Vivienne Payne who has devised and produced the show.

“We were all pleased for him when he was awarded his MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours although we're hoping that he doesn't get called to Buckingham Palace to receive it during show week!”

Show week starts on Wednesday, July 27 and runs until July 30. Performances in Marsden’s Parochial church hall start at 7.30pm.

Expect a show packed with singing, dancing, comedy and novelty acts staged by the many talented performers that Marsden seems to continue turning out. Doubtless they’ve also roped in some of their many musical friends.

Vivienne not only directs the show, she makes most of the costumes, choreographs, writes the material and yes, you’ll see her on stage too.

Music for the show is provided by Marsden regulars, musical director and keyboard player Jeff Taylor and percussionist Duncan Matley.

The team promise an evening of variety with something for everyone and plenty of surprises.

The show has become so popular that an extra night has been added to cope with demand for tickets.

There will be a bar and you can enjoy the evening in relaxed, cabaret style seating. Tickets are £7.00 from Duncan's Hairdressers, Warehouse Hill, Marsden. Call 01484 845311
