JAMES Blunt has announced a new tour for January 2008. The tour, which will see him at Manchester Apollo on January 11, comes on the back of his new album.

All The Lost Souls, which went into the charts at number one but has now been knocked of the top spot by the Foo Fighters’ new record Echoes Silence Patience and Grace.

The album, which features smash hit 1973, has outsold the nearest competition at a rate of three to one and sees a new surge of popularity for Blunt, who suffered something of a backlash after serious overplay of his single You’re Beautiful.

The new album was recorded and mixed in Los Angeles with acclaimed producer Tom Rothrock and has been inspired by iconic sounds of the 70s.

During the tour, he will be performing tracks from the both his new album and the 11 million-selling debut ‘Back To Bedlam’ , which was the best-selling LP of the millennium.

Tickets for the nine-date tour cost £25 and are now on sale.
