TWO Huddersfield bands are in with a shot at playing at Leeds Festival.

Dirty Green Vinyl and Tokyo Corner have both made it to the heats of the annual Futuresound competition at The Cockpit in Leeds.

The contest offers unsigned bands the coveted chance for one of six festival slots, five on the BBC Introducing Stage and the overall winner taking on the Festival Republic stage.

The Leeds based promoters have whittled down the hundreds of hopeful entrants and announced the final 60 performers, who will play in one of 15 dates during June and July.

Dirty Green Vinyl’s heat is on Monday, July 8. Tokyo Corner will perform on Thursday, July 18.

Tickets are available from bands and on the door on the night. Web: www.thecockpit.co.uk
