THEY’RE splitting musical opinion with their fusion of genres.

You could say BrokenCYDE are like Marmite – you’ll either love them or hate them.

Decide for yourself when they play at The Parish in Huddersfield on Wednesday, where they will be supported by Hull experimental techno punks Kieronononon.

Hailing from Albuquerque, New Mexico, BrokenCYDE fuse relatively niche genres – screamo and crunk – with a teeny tiny bit of nu metal to form a style that’s becoming known to some as ‘scrunk’.

If you don’t know, crunk is a type of rap and, In a nutshell, screamo plus crunk equals cheesy raps mixed with angsty screeches.

Unlikely bed fellows, but it’s all about fun and that’s why it is winning fans.

Whether you like them or not, BrokenCYDE are certainly an experience.

So why not try something new? In the words of Dr Pepper, what’s the worst that could happen?
