Yes it’s HCMF Shorts back again on Monday (18th) but with a slightly different twist this year.
Before, this has been the platform from which emerging composers have been able to showcase their work at one of the world’s leading contemporary festivals.
This year, festival boss Graham McKenzie has invited some of the more established names to contribute to Shorts.
There’s everything on offer from solo performers to large ensembles, and featuring acoustic and electroacoustic music, improvisation and composed music.
The day includes numerous UK and world premieres.
This terrific series of short performances begins at 11am and if you have the stamina – keeps going until midnight.
It’s a great chance to see and hear what contemporary music has to offer. So go on, give it a try.
