Salendine Nook Baptist Church has a well-earned reputation for staging good quality concerts.

Since the church was re-configured some years ago, it has staged regular  concerts featuring musical talent from both the Huddersfield area and from further afield.

For the coming season, which starts next weekend, they have four events  in the diary with more being planned for next year.

First in is the Lindley Band who play at the church on September 21.

The band appear regularly in these seasons and it fact it wouldn’t seem quite the same without them.

The conductor for Saturday’s concert is the band’s musical director, Chris Lewis.

The October slot is filled by a youth choir from further afield.

The concert organisers like to encourage young musicians and singers and on October 19 will welcome Meadway Youth Choir from Sale in Cheshire.

On November 16, the highly successful Elland Silver Youth band plays,  conducted by its musical director, Samantha Harrison.

The December concert is always quite a celebratory affair and booked in to ensure that is the case once again is Huddersfield Wind Band with its conductor, musical director Andrew Mallon.

With them on December 21 will be Halifax Young Singers.
