He is one of Europe’s leading pianists and jazz composers.

Tomorrow (October 26), Jonathan Gee will be sharing those talents here in Huddersfield when he plays a gig at the Lawrence Batley Theatre.

It is the latest concert staged by Huddersfield Jazz which continues to bring top names to the town.

Jonathan has just returned from touring America and will be playing in the LBT’s Cellar space. The concert begins at 8pm.

After working extensively on the London Jazz scene in the 1990s, Jonathan was voted Most Promising Newcomer of the Year at the British Jazz Awards.

He went on to a highly successful 10-year collaboration with bassist Steve Rose and drummer Winston Clifford and became virtually resident at Ronnie Scott’s.

Jonathan has worked with many of the country's leading jazz musicians.

For tomorrow’s gig, Jonathan will be working with drummer Ernesto Simpson and bassist Larry Bartley.

Larry has become one of the most sought-after bass players on the London jazz scene, working and recording with top musicians such as Courtney Pine, Denys Baptiste and Byron Wallen.

Ernesto Simpson on drums is a unique talent from Cuba, via New York, where his musical upbringing was influenced by a complexity of styles of African, Afro-Cuban and South American rhythms.
