A MUSIC festival is calling on unsigned bands to apply to play on its ‘Yorkshire Stage’.

Last year the Crooked Ways Festival at Pontefract, featured Razorlight, Reverend & The Makers, The Sunshine Underground and King Charles. The organisers have now opened to submissions from bands of all genres based in the region. Crooked Ways Promoter, Scott Ward, said: “Across Yorkshire we have thousands of immensely talented yet unsigned artists, which is why we want to give them the chance to play in front of thousands of people.

“At Crooked Ways festival we have a stage solely devoted to artists from Yorkshire, the Crooked Ways Presents stage. Last year on the stage we had wide ranging genres of music from acoustic to punk to electro and I’m sure 2013 won’t be any different.

“So if you’re in a band and fancy the opportunity to play in front of thousands of people then get applying. Good luck for anyone who does apply!”

Deadline for applications is January 31.
