POET Les Barker is coming to Hepworth.

His is due to perform monologues, poems and parodies at Hepworth Live, Hepworth Village Hall, on Saturday, September 24.

Les writes what he calls “strange poems” and originally comes from Manchester, but now lives in Wales.

He was an accountant before he became a “professional idiot” and cuts a dash in the world of fashion, where he is much respected as a leading exponent of the cardigan.

Listeners to BBC Radio 4 will be familiar with the work of Les Barker through his recent appearances on Wondermentalist Cabaret and Word of Mouth.

Sales of CDs of his work will go towards the British Computer Association of the Blind.
