AFTER seeing the review in the Examiner about the Red Onion Restaurant we had to go and try this new restaurant everybody is talking about.

Many of our friends have been and keep raving about it so finally the review tipped the scale.

We pulled into the car park at the rear of the restaurant which was already quite busy and the experience began right then when a young man guided us to our parking space and proceeded to open the doors for my passenger and myself.

That’s class. I have never seen anything like it. and he explained he was the car park attendant and would be looking after the cars in the car park before walking us to the entrance and opened the door to the restaurant.

We were greeted by a smartly dressed person who we later came to realise was the owner.

Looking at the menu we were spoilt for choice. I ordered the Jinga Khas (King prawns) and my wife had the Seekh kebabs. For our main we ordered a Chicken Chilli Balti and a Chicken Tikka Makhani with a garlic naan and onion rice.

I can say that the King prawns were the best I have ever tasted, cooked to perfection. My wife said the same of the Seekh kebabs. The main courses arrived smouldering hot in a traditional karahi, the smell was divine and tasted exceptional. We would go as far as to say the best curry we have ever had.

What can I say that already hasn’t been said, the Red Onion is a must dining experience, 10/10 from the moment you enter the car park to the moment you drive away after a fantastic meal.
