MAMMA Mia! This hit musical is proving a wow on the big screen too and the response to it continues to grow.
The film, which has been running at the Rex Cinema in Elland has been retained for a fourth week with some film fans returning several times to see it.
The hit film, based on the stage musical, stars Meryl Streep, Julie Walters and Pierce Brosnan and features many of the songs by ABBA.
“Occasionally we are blessed with a film which exceeds expectations,” said the Rex’s owner, Charles Morris.
“But the difference we are finding with this one is not simply that a lot of people want to see it, but several are coming back two or three times to see it again. It is attracting all age groups.”
The film was booked for a week but proved so popular that it had to be retained for a second week, then another, then another.
Mamma Mia is being shown from tonight to next Thursday at 8pm and on Thursday morning.
