IT’S a plea that is heartfelt and one that may well face more churches in the years to come.
Salendine Nook Baptist Church needs a new organist, one who would be available to play for them on Sunday mornings.
“We have someone who plays for us at present but he is in his eighties and is wanting to hand over to a new organist,” said Brian Hebblethwaite.
The church has the services of well-known musician George Marsden but he cannot play for their Sunday morning services.
“We would give a warm welcome to anyone interested in playing for us,” said Brian.
“We would be happy for them to practise at the church and if someone wants to come and try out the instrument, we would be happy to help.”
“There don’t seem to be as many people training to play as there once were but we are hoping to find someone,” said Brian.
