Businesses beavering away in a Slaithwaite mill are set to showcase their wares.

Upper Mills is hosting an event called Made Beautifully Here from 11am to 5pm on Saturday to highlight the products made by firms based in the Canal Side premises.

It’s the first time in more than 100 years that the mill is being opened to the public, and Slaithwaite Brass Band will be on hand to entertain visitors.

Businesses taking part include Olicana Textiles, which makes fabrics for customers including Liberty of London; McNair Shirts, which makes heavyweight mountain shirts; T-shirts and gifts firm Sgt Smith; light boxes and T-shirts from Occasional Human; the Hand Made Bakery; Empire Brewery; and Dark Woods Coffee.

Other products from outside include soft furnishings, bike packing gear, footwear, pens, yak wool knitwear and moleskin trousers.
