Grunge pop revivalists Whales In Cubicles are on tour and heading north.

The London rockers are set to release their  debut album in the autumn and have been  hailed for their huge riffs and ’90s distorted  rock’ hazy guitars. 

The three piece appear at Leeds’ Oporto bar on Wednesday, August 21 and Manchester’s Night and Day on Sunday, August 25.

Kings of excess and good vibes Jaya the Cat  are back in Huddersfield next week.           

The American reggae punk band hit The Parish on Wednesday as part of their European tour.

Support comes from hometown reggae,  hip-hop collective Byron Street Social.

Also performing are reggae popsters Back In The Habit and dark punks Dead Punk.  Tickets £7.

Indie rock quintet Shambolic have  released a new EP, Twisting On The Line. 

The Huddersfield stalwarts have been performing together for more than 20 years and received airplay from Radio 6 DJ  Steve Lamacq.
