X Factor star Joe McElderry will step into a coat of many colours this week as an Andrew Lloyd Webber classic comes to West Yorkshire.

The reality show winner stars in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat at Leeds Grand Theatre, which opens tomorrow evening and runs until Saturday.

The much-loved musical retelling the biblical story about Joseph, his eleven brothers and a spectacular coat first hit the stage almost 35 years ago but remains popular with young and old alike.

Featuring songs including Jacob and Sons , Close Every Door and Any Dream Will Do , the latest production by Bill Kenwright is Joe McElderry's first major theatrical appearance following a one-off West End gala performance as the lead in The Who's Tommy in 2012.
