IT IS a bit of a role change for actress Katy Allen but next month, she will appear in the title role in children’s favourite, Snow White.
Katy is best known for playing trouble causing rival Ethel Hallow in the children's television series, The Worst Witch.
“Being involved in The Worst Witch was an amazing experience, especially as I got to play a character with such a mean side to her, which was loads of fun,” said Katy.
Now she’s pretty pleased to be playing the heroine for a change.
Katy joins Chapterhouse Theatre Company for an open-air production of Snow White at Oakwell Hall in Birstall on August 18.
She trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Art in Los Angeles.
In Snow White she plays the lead role of Louisa, a young 1940s evacuee who, along with her close friends, creates a brand new performance of Snow White.
The company will stage the show in the lovely setting of the walled gardens at Oakwell Hall. It starts at 6.30pm and runs until 8pm.
Children are welcome to dress up in their favourite fairytale costumes and can join in with games and a parade during the interval.
