STEP out tomorrow with Bert Harrop and his trio as the people of Shelley set out to enjoy themselves.

What’s on offer tomorrow at the village hall, courtesy of the village’s Community Association, is a blend of music that spans the decades from the Forties to the Sixties, with a taste of everything from rock and roll through barn dance to old time.

And after an evening of music to suit most tastes there will be a supper of local meat and potato pie and peas, washed down with Golcar beer.

The music is provided by Bert, who though he is from Wakefield now lives in Barnsley. He and his trio are well known in the halls and clubs of North Yorkshire.

Bert has played trumpet for over 40 years and will be joined by a keyboard player and a saxophonist.

Tickets are available from Shelley Stores, Shelley Post Office or Lydgate Styles.

The music starts at 7.30pm.
