Ideally he likes to spend his Sundays relaxing at home with his wife, Emily, and their two daughters.

But this Sunday, (May 18) TV, panto and stage star, Neil Hurst will be surrounded by over 100 excited youngsters on stage at the Lawrence Batley Theatre, Huddersfield.

Neil, a singer, actor and comic, who lives in Yorkshire, has written and is taking part in his first ever babyballet show.

The song and dance academy, based in Halifax, is now the UK’s leading pre-school dance concept with over 10,000 youngsters attending 1,000 classes all over the country. The first classes were held at Ainley Top.

The babyballet show called `Twinkle’s Big Day Out’ features local three-and-four-year-olds , the majority of whom have never appeared in a live show before.

Also on stage with them are babyballet characters, Twinkle and Teddy the Bears, Flutterby the Fairy and Chuck the Cowboy.

Neil, originally from Halifax, and who has appeared on West End stages and TV shows such as ITV’s All Star family Fortunes as Vernon Kay’s sidekick, is Granddad Jack in the baby ballet show.

There are two shows on Sunday, at 1pm and 5pm, and they have been choreographed, produced and directed by babyballet owner Claire O’Connor, who was born in Huddersfield, and teachers, Donna Greenwood and Laura Simeunovich.

Other teachers taking part in the show include Elizabeth Gunson, Lucy Crabtree and Hannah Butcher.
