It's nearly the weekend!

From fascinating sculptures to comedy and a charity event, here's three events going on in West Yorkshire today:

  • Daydream at the Lawrence Batley Theatre: Artist Vivien Walker has donated her sculpture, titled Daydreaming, to the Lawrence Batley Theatre - head down to hear Vivien talk about the art of sculpture and her work with English alabaster, a soon-to-be-extinct stone. Tickets for the event,  which runs 2pm-3.30pm, cost £5 and include a coffee and a cake from Queenie's Coffee Shop. Click here to book tickets.

  • Head down to the Comedy Cellar for a laugh - Comedians Kevin Dewsbury and Kate Lucas are on the bill for this month's Comedy Cellar at the Sygenta Cellar at the Lawrence Batley Theatre. Kevin has been compared to comedy legend Eddy Izzard, while Kate Lucas has been crowned Leicester Comedian of the Year 2014. Tickets cost £9 (£7 concessions) and the show starts at 8pm.   • Enjoy a girls' night in and support Breakthrough Breast Cancer: The M&S Company Archive, based at the University of Leeds, is hosting a girly night in to raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. Enjoy non-alcoholic cocktails, chocolates and a look back at the history of M&S lingerie and learn more about how the high street chain supports women with breast cancer. Liz Macpherson of Breakthrough Breastcancer will also give a talk. Booking is essential - call 0208 7182800. Guests are asked to make a £5 donation to the charity.
