The weekend may be a while away yet, but that's no reason not to make the most of your Tuesday.

If you're at a loose end, there's plenty going on in and around Kirklees to fill your day - from a nice walk in the park to an evening with Jane Eyre or even a night of horror at West Yorkshire Playhouse.

Here's three things to do today, Tuesday September 23:

  1. Get some fresh air with a walk around Dewsbury Country Park - The new easy access pathway makes exploring Dewsbury Country Park, in Park Road, Dewsbury Moor, fun for everyone. Meet at the park at 2pm, for a Walk For All -  a planned stroll aimed at those with limited mobility but suitable for all. Meet new people and explore the great outdoors.

  3. Try some drama, Tennessee Williams-style - Fancy a trip to the theatre? Tennessee William's Pulitzer-winning drama A Streetcar Named Desire is being performed at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds tonight - call the Box Office on 0113 213 7700 for tickets. Staged by the Secret Theatre Company, the show is a radical reclaiming of Williams' classic tale of lust, jealousy and pride.
