Get ready for a clash of music, colours and dancing in the streets as the Huddersfield Carnival returns.

A taste of the Carribbean is coming to Huddersfield town centre once more, with bold, colourful costumes, energetic drum beats and spectacular parade floats.

Huddersfield Carnival will take place tomorrow from 1pm, winding its way from the Hudawi Centre through town to St George's Square in a celebration African-Caribbean culture.

Last year thousands of people lined the streets to watch the spectacle — and if you plan to enjoy some Caribbean rhythms this weekend, we've got all the information you need.

Where does the parade begin?

The parade sets off from the Hudawi Culture Centre in Great Northern Street at 1pm.

Will the roads be affected?

Town centre roads will be closed 12pm-4pm on Saturday, and Railway Street and St George's Square will be closed 8am-8pm.

Buses will be unable to access town centre stops during the parade, and will use the ring road to and from the bus station instead. Once the roads reopen, normal bus routes will resume.

What's happening in St Georges Square?

The party starts at 12pm in St George's Square, with entertainment on-stage before the parade reaches the square at 3.30pm.

The celebrations will continue with traditional Caribbean food, cocktails and entertainment on offer, as well as a steel pan band and a line-up of bands on the main stage until around 7pm.

The afterparty will take place at the Hudawi Centre from 10pm. Entry costs £5.

There's the Midnight Glow Parade at 26 Westgate, Huddersfield, TONIGHT at 9pm. The parade will set off at midnight, running until 3am.
