Teenage Brighouse comic Jack Carroll is to star in a TV sitcom.

The disabled youngster who shot to fame in Britain’s Got Talent is to join the cast of Big School.

The series, which first aired last summer, is written by comedian David Walliams, who was one of the judges wowed by Jack on BGT.

Britain’s Got Talent finalist Jack is set to appear in the second series of the BBC1 show.

The series is set in a high school and co-stars Catherine Tate and Philip Glenister.

It is set to return later this year.

Brighouse High School student Jack, who was a runner-up in the last series of Britain’s Got Talent, will play Dean, a new boy at Greybridge School.

The comedian, who suffers from cerebral palsy, will see his character taken under the wing of Tate’s character Miss Postern.

Walliams said: “I am excited to be welcoming so many talented new faces to the show – and it’s great to be working with Jack.”
