Reckon you can beat the clock and break out of a high security prison?

That's the challenge being set by Live Escape — a timed escape game where teams of up to five have to solve clues to escape from the prison cell.

The timed games, where contestants are locked in the game room, have become popular in Leeds and Manchester — and now Huddersfield will have its own from Monday March 9.

The Live Escape team, Huddersfield couple Sam Dalby and Danielle Wilson, designed their own game after enjoying the challenge in Manchester.

The premise of the game is that you have been locked up in a high-security, Alcatraz-style prison for a crime you didn't commit.

Can you bust out of the joint?

Your cellmate has already bust out of your cell and left a trail of clues for you to solve to break free yourself — but you only have 60 minutes before the prison guards return to do their rounds!

Cards, codes, padlocks and other puzzles are scattered around the room for teams to solve. Teams can have between two and five members, and the adventure game will be open seven days a week from Monday.

Sam said: "We've had a couple of people test it this weekend and it went really well.

"You get sixty minutes before the guards come back — there's lots of finding things and different clues in the room. We monitor the teams on CCTV and we can send messages through if they get really stuck."

Solve the puzzles to escape

Danielle said they had designed their game with different elements to other challenges they'd tried before.

"It took two months to set up once we were in the building," she said.

"The game's really good for team building, it would be good for corporate visits or a work's day out. "

The adventure game, at 42A New North Road, of Fitzwilliam Street, Huddersfield, is available to book in alternate hourly slots from 11am-9pm.

The couple hope game players will post reviews of their experience after they've played — without giving the game away, of course!
