The weekend is almost here - and for you, perhaps it has already begun!
If you're at a loose end today, we've got some suggestions for livening up your Thursday - whether you want to show off your vocals, feed a ferret or enjoy a culltured evening out.
Here's three things to do in West Yorkshire today:
- Feed a ferret at Canon Hall Farm - Take a trip down to the farm, just five miles west of Barnsley, and have a go at helping the ferrets enjoy their lunch! You can also watch them race, see the cows being milked, feed some other cute animals and learn more about rare breeds. Click here for the farm's weekday activity schedule. Admission is £4.95, children under three go free.
- Show off your inner rock star - Fancy yourself as a bit of a rocker? A supreme singer? Well, this event is for you. The Dewsbury Rockstar is hosting a FREE taster session and singing lesson at St Paul's Church Hall, Wakefield, 8pm-9.30pm. This year the choir is taking its members to the NEC in Birmingham - you never know, this could be your big break - or at the very least, a fun night of song with a community choir.
- Enjoy a cultured evening at the Lawrence Batley Theatre - Do you like spoken word performances? Acoustic music? Well head down to Queenie's Coffee Shop at the Lawrence Batley Theatre for an evening of culture over a hot cuppa joe or a glass of wine. The performances will run from 7pm-9pm in the Chol Theatre and tickets cost £2 on the door. If you're a local performer, there's some slots left - email info@choltheatre for more information.
