St George's Square was full of festival spirit today as the 2014 Huddersfield Food and Drink Festival began.

Day one of the four-day event saw people enjoy a pint in the sunshine before sampling the delicious eats on offer.

From stir fry to curry, pork pies to Yorkshire sausages, crepes, ice creams, real ales, prosecco and more, visitors were spoilt for choice.

The festival will run until Sunday, with musical entertainment Friday and Saturday evening. The bars and stalls will remain open until 9.30pm. Whet your appetite with our guides to the food , drink and desserts on offer this year.
