ELECTRICIANS have that extra spark when it comes to attracting the opposite sex.

They are most likely to be seduced by housewives, a poll has claimed.

More than 20% of 2,000 tradesmen said they had received romantic proposals while on the job – and 54% confessed they had accepted the offer.

The survey from Grime Boss Heavy Duty Hand Wipes, of all things, said electricians came top with housewives attempting to seduce 29% of them. Gas fitters came next at 27% followed by builders (25%).

Journalists were not listed. My mate Kev the Sparky will never let me hear the last of this.

To be honest, I can’t recall seduction on the job was very high on the agenda with any journalists of my acquaintance, even in the halcyon days of my youth. They were all too intent on getting back to the pub before closing time.

On one occasion a nightclub performer in Manchester who was built like Two Ton Tessie O’Shea took a shine to me, but I ran. And at the scouts Gang Show in Blackpool, I was chatted up by a girl guide. Work and romance, I found, didn’t mix.

Unlike the tradesmen polled. Four out of 10 admitted they provided cheaper quotes to attractive women.

No wonder I never got any discounts.
