TWO Huddersfield beauty consultants will be going head to head in a festive charity competition tomorrow evening.

Jo Burke and Raj Kaur, who both work at the Boots store in King Street, plan to raise money for the Look Good Feel Better cancer support organisation by challenging each other to a cosmetics contest.

The consultants will demonstrate a range of festive party looks with members of the audience voting for the make-up they like the best.

Jo, who works for Max Factor, and Raj, a Boots No7 make-up artist, are aiming to raise more than £500 at the event in the store.

The Look Good Feel Better charity is run by the cosmetic industry. It offers hair and beauty advice and workshops for women undergoing cancer treatment, helping them to overcome the visible effects of treatment and illness.

Tickets for the evening, which begins at 6.15pm and ends at 8.30pm, are £10 each and must be reserved by calling 01484 421756 (option 6 or 7).

The entry price also covers a drink, mince pie, and a goodie bag.

“The Boots Christmas choir will be singing carols to round off the evening,” said Raj.

“We’re hoping it will be a lot of fun. We’ve based it on Gok Wan’s fashion fix.”
