SOUTH AFRICA: Likely next president Jacob Zuma was looking beyond yesterday’s national vote, eager to set up a new government that he said will bring “visible change” to improve the lives of the country’s black majority. Mr Zuma’s African National Congress party is expecting an overwhelming victory in the parliamentary election, which has generated an excitement not seen since the country’s first multiracial vote in 1994. An 80% turnout was expected.
