THE COLOURS of spring fashion collections are bold and bright.

So now’s the time to pack away those dull winter blacks and browns.

Oranges, jade green, turquoise, red and cobalt blue, fashion stores are awash with colour - mix and match them, with stripes, striking patterns and colour blocking.

Although colour blocking first appeared on the scene two summers ago, it has only really taken off this year and is now everywhere on the High Street.

Check out the cheap and cheerful supermarket collections for budget-priced separates to mix and match. Tesco’s F&F range, for example, has a brilliant deep orange blazer at just £28, which would team beautifully with a pair of peppermint green cropped jeans, £14, and a plain white T shirt or even pink trousers. The pink jacket shown here is used in a daring combination with orange. Throw in a pair of green suede platform shoes, £22, and that’s a catwalk look for less than £75.

The idea is to be as bold as possible.

Complex prints are also big this year. The Warehouse collection has tropical-inspired dresses, tops and leggings, all in eye-catching designs and lavish colours. Look out for insect-inspired designs, butterflies, tropical fruit and greenery.

It’s going to be a colourful summer indeed.
