HAVE you always hankered after a career as a model?
Then now’s your chance to see if you’ve got what it takes.
Batley School of Art and Design, now part of Kirklees College, is looking for volunteers to stride the catwalk at the college’s annual fashion show.
As well as using professional models, the decision has been taken this year to find members of the public – of all ages, shapes and sizes – to showcase the collections of students on fashion courses.
X-Factor style castings are being planned for next week and the chosen few will be asked to set aside June 17, the day of the show.
The show, called ‘Owt Couture’, will be held at the Frontier Club in Batley with both matinee and evening performances.
Martin Deans, deputy marketing manager at Kirklees College, said: “We are looking for males and females of all ages from 16 years upwards. We need to find the models now because the students will be making the clothes to fit them.’’
An open casting for the show is being held on Tuesday, March 31, at the New North Road campus in Huddersfield from 10am until 1pm.
