1 Holmfirth Civic Society Gardeners’ Question Time – put October 20 in your diary and come along to the Holmfirth Civic Hall on Huddersfield Road for 7.30pm where you will find yours truly answering all your gardening questions in a Gardeners’ Question Time evening. The room is limited to 120 people so get there early. There will be a raffle and tea and biscuits at half time. Entry is £3 per head for those who are not Civic Society members and the evening will also be helping to raise funds for the Forget Me Not Childrens’ Hospice. 2 Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee – the Woodland Trust are intending to plant new forest areas across Britain to help celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee in 2012. Their plans include 60 Diamond Woods and hundreds of smaller Diamond Woodlands across Britain with six million trees.
