Carol Kavanagh would love to find out what happened to these players from a school football team in the 1950s.

She discovered the photo while going through husband David’s keepsakes after he died in February aged 72.

Carol, of Oakes, said David was born and brought up in Moldgreen and was educated at Rawthorpe Secondary Modern where he was in the under 15 team in 1957/58. He also played for Moldgreen Youth Club football team in 1960/61.

She said: “I’d love to know more about other players in the team and if they remember David.”

David later played football for Moldgreen Youth Club alongside Bob McNab who went on to play for Huddersfield Town, Arsenal and also made four appearances for England. His daughter, Mercedes McNab, played Harmony Kendall in Buffy The Vampire Slayer plus films such as Addams Family Values and Hatchet.

After leaving school David worked at the YEB in Lindley and then in the maintenance department at engineering company Thomas Broadbent & Sons on Queen Street South in Huddersfield.
