THONGSBRIDGE B became the first team to clinch a league title in the Huddersfield and District Tennis League season.
Having narrowly missed promotion from Division III the previous season, they quickly set about putting the record straight by notching 11 consecutive victories to ensure that they stepped up into Division II.
They maintained their unbeaten sequence and guaranteed they would step up with a 10-3 victory over third placed Oakfield A.
“We should stay up with the team we have, it has been a lot stronger this year,” said team captain Doreen Dewhirst.
“It was disappointing when we missed out on promotion the year before.”
